Jemina's book is BACK IN ACTION--

Here are the recent artist pages for 'a house is a house for me.'
I'll be sending this one off Oct. 1st.

Cheers, Stacy

DIY!

Posting for the last 3 artists & myself. The DIY theme so far = tools used to secure, bind or fix. I was playing with photo transfers and tried using acrylic medium to create a transparent image of a DIY fundi's (repair man's) duka (little corner shop).  I added some East African kitenge to create movement.

Jeminas entry into places that take your breath away

My sister recently came to visit Berlin. She did some collage work while she was here and I borrows her idea!

Jemina's sketch in Michaela's book

For this entry I wanted to address the conflict/resolution in Berlin. To do this the wall, and the fall of the wall seemed to fit.

Switzerland is Breathtaking, Ryan's entry in Mark's book.

This is a re-creation of a plein air sketch I did in Montreux last spring. Switzerland is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to breathtaking views and this day was a perfect storm. Warm spring light, crisp morning air after a night rain, castle, lake, mountains, what more could you ask for?

Ryan's sketch in Michaela's book

Conflict/Resolution

My goal for this entry was to incorporate elements from the previous page (head and horizon line). I struggled for quite some time with this one and it finally came to me one night when I was playing chess with my son. Even a pawn can kill a queen if the circumstances are right.
