Jemina's Book

My daughter has a book titled 'a house is a house for me.' It is one of my favorites, the line is always stuck in my head! I have decided to make this my theme.

There is one picture plain for each person in our rotation. I can't what to see where you all go with it!
Happy Sketching!

Nyumbani

Nyumbani means "home" in Swahili - another book coming out of Tanzania! It is made out of an old, discarded from the library, Tanzania guide book, and each page is layered and textured.  There are 24 spreads, so each artist can have 1 or 2 or 3 spreads as you desire! Enjoy!

I'm sending it across the way to my Tanzanian teaching buddy, Stacy, any day now!

On each page I layered images, papers and a wash of gesso or acrylic paint, so you have an interesting base to start from. Each page is really about 3 pages glued together for a little more strength. I ripped most of the pages out of this book when getting started and it weakened the binding. After I drew the above pages, I taped the crease between the pages just to help it stay together.  That is something you might want to do too.

Safari Njema

Hi there ECISketchers! My theme is Safari. In Kiswahili, safari means journey. You can interpret this however you like! I've made a simple accordion fold book.
Feel free to use a two page spread and work onto the back as well.

Cheers!
Stacy

Location, Location, Location

Ryan's Book
The theme for my book is Location, Location, Location. I have always loved to draw and write on location and found that I retain more of the moment when I do so. The starting point for this book is the idea of being present to your physical, mental, or emotional location.

There is enough allocated space for each artist to create 10 individual pages or 5 double page spreads. This book is now ready to take a journey.

 Dear Sketchers,

The theme of my journal is, Places That Take Your Breath Away.  Interpret this as broadly as you like.  Have fun with it.
